Welcome to my new blog! It’s kind of fitting really that I planned to begin writing this blog on New Year’s Day and here it is January 11th and I’m finally getting it done. This is my life. Maybe yours is the same.
When it comes to my identity, context is everything. Sometimes I am the pseudo stay-at-home mother of 3 very wonderful, albeit high demand children, each with their unique sensory profile. At other times, I am Dr. Jennifer Rosinia the pediatric occupational therapist, child development specialist, professional speaker/teacher and consultant.
I get up early. My body naturally wakes up around 4:15 am. I love my early mornings. The house is quite. I can drink a cup of coffee, think clearly about all that I need and want to get done that day. I do my best work during these early morning hours.
During the early morning hours, I also find myself musing about life. It’s in these early morning hours when I am able to find the humor in those things that I don’t or can’t during the busy demands of the day. It is also during these early morning musings that I think most clearly and am able to make connections (links, if you will) between behavior and possible underlying causes, usually related to sensory processing. I believe all behavior has meaning! And, it is during my early morning musings that I come up with my best intervention plans.
These are the things that I want to share with you through this blog. I am hoping that you’ll also share your musings with me. Welcome to Early Morning Musings! I am a professional, parenting with a sensory humor. Hang in there with me; it may take me a few posts to find my way. Let the musings begin!
